In the Beginning... A trip to the village during the Christmas season at the age of 8 was my first encounter with the healing power of Shea butter before then it was just a smelly mass used to add moisture to our hair. Running around the village was fun but on this occasion ended with a fall. Mama rubbed some 'Okuma' (Shea butter) on it and assured me that it would heal with no bruises and true to her word it did. Ten years later, an interest in science drove me to commence a degree in Pharmaceutical Science with a major module in Natural Products and Alternative therapies. During which Shea butter, other natural remedies and their therapeutic properties, some even proven by science came up again. Further interest spiralled a Masters degree in Formulation science, this taught the art of mixtures such as lotions, emulsions, creams etc. Graduating with a distinction convinced me that this is where I wanted to be, so I made up my mind to share my novel interests and knowledge with others starting with friends and family. The mixing of oils, aromatherapy and butters was the birth of Zuri Natural. Months, countless hours, long nights and weekends of meticulous research, development, mixing and optimization was the least I could do to create the perfect products on point with quality and efficacy. All Zuri Natural’s products are packaged by hand using environmentally friendly and sustainable materials. We are committed to being a socially responsible business by using Fair Trade ingredients. We do not test our products or ingredients on animals but on human volunteers.
